How A Man I Met On TikTok Used A Fake Mother And A Fake Child To Scam Me Of 1.28 Million -Juliet

The popular program Brekete Family released a video detailing a heartbreaking scam involving a Nigerian woman named Juliet, a resident of Edo State. She lost a total of N1.28 million to an elaborate romance fraud carried out through TikTok.

Her ordeal began on January 30, 2026, when she connected with a user named “Kelvin.” He presented himself as a divorced officer in the Canadian Air Force, claiming to have ended a marriage with a white woman. He also said he had a nine-year-old daughter named Precious, who was supposedly living with his mother back in Nigeria.

After gaining Juliet’s trust, the scammers introduced her to individuals pretending to be the child’s grandmother and the little girl herself. A fake hospital representative began demanding money. First, Juliet sent N150,000, followed by N500,000, then another N200,000, and finally an additional N200,000, adding up to N1.28 million. Later, “Kelvin” claimed he was being held at Abuja airport on drug-related charges and asked for even more money. Not once did Juliet meet any of these people face-to-face.

A coach who reviewed the case explained that this is a coordinated syndicate: “the old woman, the small girl, and the man abroad are all operating from the same location.” He clarified that no spiritual charms or spells were at play, just pure emotional exploitation and the victim’s desperation.

The advice given to others is straightforward: always insist on live video calls, double-check people’s identities, and never transfer money to anyone you meet online unless you have verified them in person. Juliet is encouraged to collect every piece of evidence, such as bank receipts and chat logs, and to report the matter to the Abuja Commissioner of Police, whose department has a specialized unit for tracking such criminal networks. However, she should be ready to cover investigative expenses……See More
