The spokesperson of the Kwankwasiya movement, Habibu Mohammed, has alleged that both Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso view the Supreme Court’s ruling on the ADC crisis as a deliberate trap, and that the alliance has concluded it is safer to move to an entirely new political platform.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Mohammed said, “What the Supreme Court has done is a big trap. We feel it is better that we actually move to a separate platform. The Supreme Court had the opportunity to put to rest the entirety of the ADC’s case, where grounds of appeal about six or seven were presented.”
Mohammed pointed out that instead of resolving all the outstanding grounds of appeal, the Supreme Court addressed only one and sent the matter back to the lower court, setting the stage for another round of rulings and potential appeals that could drag on indefinitely.
