A Lawyer Believed I Was Innocent Filed An Appeal And The Federal Court Cut Life To 18 Years -Peace

Peace, the woman who was framed by her husband, faced the most terrifying punishment imaginable in the Malaysian prison system. After being convicted for drug trafficking, a crime she did not knowingly commit, she was sentenced to death.

She revealed the full extent of her harrowing experience on the Brekete Family show, leaving the Ordinary President and the audience in shock. What many thought was a short prison term was actually a 12-year ordeal that began with a death sentence.

She explained that she was on death row and was supposed to be executed by hanging. However, her life was spared due to a change in Malaysian law, which was influenced by international pressure from figures like Pope Francis and former U.S. President Barack Obama, who spoke out against the country’s harsh drug laws.

They don’t hang women again, due to… I think it was Obama and the Pope that begged Malaysia, saying they kill people too much. So they stopped hanging women. So they made it life imprisonment.
