Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declined to respond to recent remarks by Vice President Kashim Shettima, citing what he described as a lack of respect.
Speaking during an Exclusive Interview on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Atiku stated that he would not engage Shettima in a public exchange, stressing that respect and decorum are important values, particularly in Northern Nigerian culture.
“I cannot answer Kashim because he is disrespectful and that is not the attitude of an Arewa man,” Atiku said, adding that his age and longer years of experience in public service place him in a different position.
