Senator Ali Ndume has refuted allegations that he handled billions of naira in ransom payments, stating he has never seen such amounts of money at once. Speaking on SYMFONI, Ndume addressed claims by Kaigama that 5 billion naira was released for ransom but only 1.9 billion reached the kidnappers.
“Charles, in my life I have never seen 1 billion at once. Not to say that I have never had money that if you put them together, but I have never in my life, in one go, seen with my eyes,” Ndume declared.
The senator challenged Kaigama to explain where the remaining money went. “What happened to the rest of the money? That is the question that should be directed to him.”
Ndume maintained his longstanding position against ransom payments. “My position on ransom payment or even negotiating with Boko Haram is clear.
