CityFM Managing Director Doja Allen has revealed the tragic death of her younger brother who was shot in the eye during an armed robbery attack at age 18, with the pellet traveling to his brain and eventually killing him months after initially surviving surgery.
Speaking on With Chude, Allen disclosed this traumatic family history for the first time in detail, explaining that the incident occurred after her family had already been displaced following her father’s death due to polygamy-related complications and mortgage debts.
According to Allen, her brother’s death from the delayed effects of the gunshot wound devastated her mother but also contributed to her eventual conversion to Christianity as she sought spiritual solace from the series of tragedies befalling her family.
Doja Allen said: “We moved to our own accommodation which my mom rented and so in the course of it we had an armed robbers attack and my younger brother was shot. This was when he was maybe 18. This is a part of my life that I’ve never spoken about in many years. And so he was shot by armed robbers and he survived actually and it wasn’t a big gun. It was all those pellets.
