Hadizah Abubakar has made a crucial distinction between wanting a man who is genuinely spiritual and God-fearing versus one who is merely outwardly religious. She emphasized that genuine fear of God is more valuable than religious performance, as it shapes behavior from within rather than from external obligation.
Speaking on the Talk-to-B podcast, Hadizah explained her perspective using a practical example. If a man has the genuine fear of God and someone needs water to quench their thirst, that fear of God will naturally compel him to give the water to that person rather than withhold it for selfish reasons. The fear of God operates as an internal moral compass that guides ethical behavior without the need for rules or external enforcement.
Hadizah clarified that she doesn’t care whether her ideal partner goes to church regularly or not. What matters is the authenticity of his relationship with God and whether he genuinely loves others. She noted that many people have lost their capacity to love due to past heartbreaks, both men and women, but she hasn’t given up hope of finding someone with a genuine heart. Her philosophy is that no matter how many disappointments she experiences, she must continue to try and give people chances, otherwise she will never find the right partner.
