In an interview with Worship Media TV, Clem Ohameze, a veteran Nollywood actor, stated that an attempt was made to kill him when he left acting to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2007.
Ohameze said he joined politics after feeling he had achieved a lot in his acting career and wanted to pursue other interests. He stated that his political journey became a bitter experience and involved threats to his life.
Ohameze said some people told him to leave politics and return to acting. He said they offered him money to quit politics, but he refused. He said he later survived an attempt on his life and he fled to London where he stayed for one year.
