According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Silverbird N24 on Thursday, June 4, National Vice Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee, South-South, Emmanuel Ogidi, criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its handling of issues affecting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during an interview on the state of the opposition party, Ogidi maintained that the PDP remains a strong political force despite the internal disputes and leadership challenges confronting it ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He argued that recent developments within the party should be viewed in the light of existing court decisions, particularly rulings of the Supreme Court. According to him, the legal position on the matter has already been settled by the apex court, leaving little room for differing interpretations.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the electoral body’s actions, Ogidi stated, “INEC is just being clever by half because the Supreme Court has given a final judgment on it.”
The PDP chieftain insisted that the party is committed to resolving its internal issues through lawful and democratic processes. He also expressed confidence that the party would overcome its current challenges and remain competitive in future elections.
Ogidi further noted that members of the party are focused on rebuilding and strengthening its structures across the country.
