Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has criticized the rising cost of fuel in Nigeria, questioning the praise being given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid worsening economic conditions.
Adeyanju made the remarks during an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke on the current state of the economy and the growing hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians. The activist expressed frustration over what he described as misplaced commendation of the administration despite the sharp increase in fuel prices.
In the interview, Adeyanju said, “Fuel is almost N2000 and people are calling the president master strategist. Master strategist in what?.” His comment reflects growing public concern over the cost of living, particularly following the removal of fuel subsidies, which has led to a surge in petrol prices across the country.
Adeyanju argued that the reality on ground does not support the narrative that the current administration is executing a well-planned economic strategy.
