Public Affairs Analyst and politician Blessing Oladeji has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could secure victory in the 2027 presidential election if opposition leaders fail to form a strong alliance.
Oladeji made the assertion during an interview on Volume Pod, where she analysed possible political scenarios ahead of the next general elections. Her comments come amid ongoing discussions about coalition-building among opposition figures seeking to challenge the ruling party.
In the interview, she stated, “As long as you don’t have the combination of these two big names, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on the same ballot, President Tinubu is going to win the election.” The statement underscores her view that a divided opposition may struggle to unseat the incumbent.
Oladeji’s remarks reflect a growing narrative within Nigeria’s political space that unity among opposition parties could be decisive in determining the outcome of future elections. Both Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, and Atiku, who ran under the Peoples Democratic Party, alongside Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, commanded significant voter bases in the last election cycle.
