The IRGC, Military People With The Guns Are Dominant Power; Araghchi Is Only Representing IRGC-Keane

According to a report by Fox News, on Saturday April 25, 2026, Retired four-star general and Fox News senior strategic analyst Jack Keane offered a stark assessment of the current state of U.S.-Iran negotiations, arguing that the Iranian political landscape has shifted significantly in favor of hardline military leaders, specifically the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Keane emphasized that a power vacuum within the Iranian leadership has been resolved in favor of the military.

“That power vacuum certainly began to be filled by the political people on the right and the military on the left. I am not talking political left and right here,” Keane explained.

“That’s been resolved now. The IRGC, the military people not too surprising with the guns they are the one dominant power”.

According to Keane, this consolidation of power has marginalized more moderate political voices.

He noted that figures like Ghalibaf, who previously represented more flexible political elements in negotiations, have been pushed aside. “He’s been sidelined; he’s not coming to these talks,” Keane stated.

The current Iranian diplomatic delegation, according to Keane, holds little real authority. “The foreign minister Abbas Araghchi does not have much power or influence. It’s only going to represent the views of Ahmad Vahiti, who is now the head of the IRGC”. Keane characterized these leaders as “bonafide hardliners” who are unlikely to make genuine concessions.”……..See More
