Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Awofe Afolayan has stirred a new debate in the movie industry with a bold claim about his seniority over fellow actor Oga Bello.
Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Afolayan made it clear that while Oga Bello may be older in age, he himself holds the higher rank when it comes to career standing.
He explained that the issue is not about who was born first, but who became a boss first.
Afolayan stated that he gained his freedom from his own boss and went on to found his personal theater group.
From that point, he became the leader of his own brand. Meanwhile, Oga Bello was still training under the well known Awada Kerikeri group.
According to Afolayan, that period clearly made him the boss over his colleague.
He further noted that he had already started producing his own movies while Oga Bello was still showing his own films under the Awada Kerikeri name.
Afolayan said this was because Oga Bello worked for that brand, whereas he already owned the Awofe Theater group.
His words: “Oga Bello may be older than me in age, but I am his boss in the Nollywood industry. By the time I had gained my freedom from my own boss and founded my own theater group, Oga Bello was still training under Awada Kerikeri. I was his boss at that time. I was already producing my own movies. Even when we met at the theater to show our films, he was still showing his movies under the Awada Kerikeri brand because he worked there, while I already had my own brand, the Awofe Theater group.”……See More
