I Lost My Money, Houses And Even Contact With My Children After Divorce In England -Emmanuel Ebouè

Former Arsenal F.C. defender and Ivorian footballer Emmanuel Eboué has opened up about one of the most painful periods of his life, revealing how divorce, financial struggles, and career setbacks changed everything for him.

Speaking on the debut episode of The 5th House Podcast in Lagos, Eboué said, “I lost my money, my houses and even contact with my children after divorce in England.” The former football star explained that while many fans knew him for his cheerful personality on the pitch, he was privately dealing with serious personal challenges.

According to Eboué, during his marriage he trusted his former wife with many of his financial matters, documents, and assets. He stated that several of the properties he acquired were either in her name or jointly owned, which later became a major issue during their separation.

He also spoke about the emotional pain of losing regular contact with his children after the marriage ended. Eboué described that aspect of the experience as one of the hardest things he has had to face.

Beyond family matters, the former defender said professional disputes also worsened his situation. He explained that after leaving Galatasaray S.K. and joining Sunderland A.F.C., he became involved in a legal battle with former agents, which led to a suspension that disrupted his career.

Eboué added that the difficult period forced him into isolation, as he withdrew from public life and struggled with the sudden change in circumstances.
