Tanko Yinusa, an aide to former presidential candidate, Peter Obi has stated that handing the presidential ticket to a southern candidate would significantly improve the African Democratic Congress’s chances in the upcoming election.
Speaking in an interview with CHANNELS TV Tanko argued that the current political moment favors a southern presidency and that zoning the candidacy to the South would help unite support and increase the party’s likelihood of winning. He warned that failing to zone the ticket southward would risk electoral defeat and urged Nigerians to verify the claim by conducting independent polls.
He said,
“It’s a southern presidency at the moment; to make it easy for ADC to win, zone it to the South. Give the candidacy to the South and you’re sure of winning. Anything short of that will only lead to losing the election. I’m saying this for every Nigerian to critically go and do their own independent poll.”……See More
