Omoyele Sowore, in a video posted on his official YouTube account, spoke on the difficulties faced by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in securing a venue for its national convention in Abuja, amid allegations of political interference. He stated that the situation raises concerns about equal access to public facilities for all political parties.
He argued that if the ruling APC is able to hold events in prominent government venues, then opposition parties should be granted the same opportunity without obstruction. He added that any denial of such access would amount to unequal treatment and could provoke further political response.
According to him, “I completely condemn the harassment to which they were subjected. If APC can have their convention inside the villa, every other political party should have access to the same villa to hold their convention. If I were in ADC and I needed a big-sized convention center, I would apply to go and do it at the villa. I don’t know why they didn’t apply to the villa. That’s the best place to apply. Let the president’s office deny them the right that is extended to APC. Then we’ll take it from there.”…..See More
