There have been several reactions from the general public and particularly social media users after the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi was spotted holding a meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Patrick Egloff in Abuja.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X account on Wednesday July 22nd, 2026 he disclosed that the discussions centered around security and national development.
The former Anambra State governor, it can be recalled, came under intense public backlash few days ago after attending an international conference in Berlin, Germany where he met with policymakers and world leaders.
His recent meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Patrick Egloff as expected, triggered diverse reactions as many sought to know what was discussed.
Taking to his official X handle, the former Anambra State governor shared insights into his discussions with the Swiss Ambassador. He made it known that the major reason for the meeting was to strengthen development through partnership.
He further disclosed that during the discussions, critical sectors that drive development which included education, healthcare, and lifting people out of poverty were identified.
The Swiss government, according to Mr Peter Obi, played a major role in peace-building initiatives in Nigeria, especially in the north-east region.
