Usman Bugaje, speaking on SYMFONI TV, was asked whether President Bola Tinubu still enjoys the same level of support in Northern Nigeria that helped secure his electoral victory. The interviewer noted that the region had played a significant role in Tinubu’s win.
Bugaje declined to answer directly. “Ask the North then,” he said.
When the interviewer pointed out that he is widely regarded as a leading northern figure, Bugaje turned to public sentiment for his response. “Just look at the songs that the young people have designed,” he said.
He went further, stating, “The North has never been as angry with any government like this particular government.”
Bugaje added that many northerners openly criticize the administration on a daily basis, with some even praying against it.
