Somebody Said, “My Son Called me And Said, ‘Dad, Is Land Available? I Said, Yes, And Ge Got $2M -Wike

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has alleged that false claims involving him and his family have been fabricated in an attempt to damage his reputation, citing a story that accused his son of securing land in exchange for a $2 million payment.

Speaking in a video posted by TVC on Thursday, July 8, 2026, Wike said an individual falsely claimed to have witnessed his son call him to inquire about the availability of land in the FCT, after which the person allegedly paid $2 million. The minister dismissed the allegation as fabricated and described it as part of a campaign to tarnish his image.

Wike stated that the authorities acted on the matter and arrested the individual behind the claim.

According to him, “As I’m sitting as minister of the FCT, somebody has done that, claiming that he knows my children. And that there was a day that he was with my son and that my son called, ‘Dad, is any land available?’ And I said yes. And that they gave him 2 million US dollars. So look at the game.

The FCT minister argued that public officials are often subjected to false accusations designed to undermine their credibility. He maintained that such allegations should be properly investigated rather than accepted without evidence.

Wike further stated that the incident demonstrates the lengths to which some individuals are willing to go in spreading misinformation. He reiterated that his administration remains focused on its responsibilities despite what he described as deliberate attempts to discredit him through unfounded allegations…..See More
