In an interview with DCL English, Senator Shehu Sani accused former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of persecuting and jailing people unjustly while in office
Sani said El-Rufai has spent 200 days in detention and he is reaping what he sowed when he was governor. He said he personally spent more than four years in different prisons as an activist, so nobody can lecture him about detention
Sani said members of the Islamic Movement in Kaduna spent more than five years in prison under El-Rufai’s government. He stated that El-Rufai’s government strongly opposed every attempt by judges to grant them bail.
In Shehu Sani’s words: “El-Rufai has served 200 days in detention, but I know that as an activist I have been in prison, I have stayed for over four years in different prisons so nobody can lecture me about detention”
