Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu has voiced his displeasure over the comments made by the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the claims made by the former governor were designed to attract undue sympathy from the public.
Peter Obi, it can be recalled, had stirred massive reactions after he declared that his life was in danger. He went ahead to point accusing fingers at the current administration for threatening his existence.
However, while no concrete evidence exist to substantiate his claims, he did disclose that an incident at an airport was a clear indication that the federal government was after him.
Bayo Onanuga, in a recent public statement which was shared on his verified X account, dismissed his (Mr Peter Obi) assertions. He made it known that the former governor was responsible for his predicament.
He further pointed out that the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate made the claims just to solicit public sympathy ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
The statements from the former governor had sparked massive public debate, however, the recent counter statement from Bayo Onanuga added another dimension to the tensed conversation bordering the safety of Peter Obi.
