War With Iran Increases Risk Of US, Israel Using Nuclear Weapons -Taylor Greene

According to a report by Reuters on Monday, June 29, 2026, former US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed concern that the ongoing conflict involving Iran could spiral into a far more dangerous confrontation, warning that the possibility of nuclear weapons being used by Israel or the United States cannot be ruled out if hostilities continue to escalate.

Speaking in an interview with Russian news agency TASS, the former Republican lawmaker from Georgia said she fears the conflict could develop beyond conventional warfare, with potentially catastrophic consequences for the region and the wider international community.

Greene said one of her greatest concerns is the possibility that Israel could resort to its nuclear capabilities if the conflict intensifies.

“Israel has nuclear weapons. What I fear is they will find a way to use one against Iran. And I think that would be the most devastating thing. Or would the US go that far? I certainly hope not, and I pray that never happens,” she said.

According to Greene, the current situation remains highly unstable despite diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.

She argued that there is little evidence to suggest that any ceasefire or peace arrangement would be durable, describing the existing diplomatic atmosphere as uncertain and fragile.

“It doesn’t feel like the peace deal is secure. It feels very fragile, but we’ll see,” she stated.

Greene also criticised the decision by President Donald Trump to become involved militarily in the conflict with Iran, describing it as what she believes could become one of the defining mistakes of his presidency.

She warned that the conflict could trigger consequences that are impossible to predict or control.

“I think this could become Pandora’s box. Once something like this is opened, it becomes extremely difficult to contain, and that is what worries me,” she said.

The former congresswoman further claimed that Israel appears determined to continue its military operations across the region, pointing to ongoing military actions in Gaza and Lebanon as evidence that the conflict could continue to expand.

According to Greene, if military operations persist without restraint, the risk of a broader regional war will continue to grow.

“We’ll see how events unfold over the coming weeks and months, but Israel has made it clear that it does not want to stop. If they continue military operations elsewhere, it raises questions about how far this conflict could eventually go,” she said.

Greene was once regarded as one of President Trump’s closest political allies and an influential figure within the Republican Party’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.

The MAGA movement emerged from Trump’s successful 2016 presidential campaign and has remained one of the most recognisable political brands within conservative American politics.

However, Greene has increasingly distanced herself from the president in recent months over disagreements regarding US foreign policy, particularly military interventions abroad.
