ADC chieftain, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has reacted to the statement that was made by the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC after court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to deregister NDC.
The statement of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on June 26, 2026.
This is coming after the NDC stated that the Peace Movement Party that filed the complaint is not a registered party in Nigeria.
Here is what NDC wrote;
“The association that filed the complaint is unknown to us. The Peace Movement Party (PMP) is not a registered political party in Nigeria. They claimed, in a motion that the court should set aside its earlier judgment on the purported ground that, in 2015, they had sought registration as a political party with the victory sign as their symbol and were denied”.
However, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has now shared his thoughts after the post surfaced online. In a statement that he shared on his official X handle, he said the All Progressive Congress, APC has shown that it is not popular among the people of Nigeria.
According to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour on his official X handle;
“Democracy only works when citizens have genuine choices, not when one party appears determined to run unopposed. The APC should have enough confidence in its popularity to face opponents at the polls instead of weaponizing the judiciary against the opposition”.
