Bandits: In Osun, Mad Men Came To Town With More Than N100,000, Power Bank And Phones -Abolarinwa

Counter-terrorism expert Olatunbosun Abolarinwa has raised concerns over what he described as suspicious movements and activities involving individuals posing as mentally unstable persons in parts of Osun State, warning that such trends could present serious security risks if left unchecked.

Abolarinwa made the remarks during an interview on TVC News, on Tuesday, 16 June, 2026, while discussing the need for improved monitoring of potential threats and the movement of individuals who may be linked to criminal or terrorist networks.

The security expert cited a personal experience from his hometown in Okuku, Osun State, where he claimed that individuals believed to be mentally unstable were found in possession of significant amounts of money and electronic devices. He argued that such cases should prompt further investigation by relevant authorities.

“I can boldly say to you that in Osun State, we have disturbing activities of mad men coming to town with more than N100,000, power bank and phones. This happened in my own town in Okuku, Osun State,” Abolarinwa said.

He noted that while not every unusual incident is connected to terrorism or organized crime, authorities should not ignore developments that appear inconsistent with normal expectations.
