According to Anadolu Agency, the United Arab Emirates secretly carried out dozens of airstrikes against Iranian military targets during the opening days of Iran’s war with the United States and Israel, and continued the campaign until the day after a ceasefire was declared in April, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
Citing regional defense officials familiar with the operation, the Journal revealed that the Emirati strikes targeted weapons depots, drone command centers, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) positions along Iran’s southern coast. The previously undisclosed attacks began within 48 hours of the outbreak of hostilities, as part of a coordinated effort with Western intelligence.
The UAE, a longtime US security partner that had maintained diplomatic ties with Tehran following the 2020 Abraham Accords, appeared to have sided decisively with the anti-Iran coalition.
