Three Aircraft Carriers, That Is More Firepower Than We Had When We Started Iraq War In 2003″Buccino

The United States military is preparing to deploy an unprecedented concentration of naval power in the Middle East, with three carrier strike groups set to operate simultaneously in the region. The scale of this deployment, according to former US Central Command communications director and retired Army Colonel Joe Buccino, surpasses anything seen in the area since the invasion of Iraq more than two decades ago.

Speaking in an interview with France 24, Buccino stated plainly: “We are about to have three carrier strike groups out there — that is more firepower than we had when we started the Iraq War in 2003.” The combined fleet will comprise more than 30 warships, representing one of the most significant concentrations of American naval power in recent history.

Buccino noted that the buildup comes at a particularly strategic and ironic moment. For years, US military planners had been deliberately working to reduce their naval footprint in Central Command’s area of responsibility, redirecting assets toward the Indo-Pacific theater in response to growing Chinese military assertiveness. That carefully managed pivot has now been sharply reversed.

The former CENTCOM spokesman pointed out that despite the sheer scale of this naval deployment, significant operational challenges remain.
