According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Monday, April 20, 2026, Iran has reaffirmed that its enriched uranium stockpiles will remain within its territory, rejecting any proposal involving transfer, dilution, or external control in both current and past negotiations.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran’s position is to preserve all nuclear achievements domestically, stressing that such assets are considered a matter of national sovereignty.
“At no stage of the current or previous negotiations has the transfer of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles to the United States or any other country been discussed,” he said.
He added, “As our soil is sacred and important to us, enriched uranium is also important to us.”
Baghaei also dismissed suggestions of uranium dilution, stating that Iran’s nuclear program is tied to national independence and long-term scientific development.
“Our soil is as sacred as our uranium,” he said, noting that national resources and strategic assets are treated as integral components of the country’s identity and security.
He further stated that Iran’s nuclear program is the result of years of domestic scientific effort and would not be abandoned under external pressure.
Iranian officials have consistently maintained that the country’s nuclear activities are peaceful in nature and aimed at advancing scientific and technological capacity. They argue that any demands involving the removal or transfer of enriched materials are incompatible with national sovereignty and international legal principles.
The remarks come amid ongoing international discussions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and broader regional tensions. Tehran has repeatedly emphasized that it will continue to exercise full control over its nuclear materials and related infrastructure while rejecting conditions it considers politically motivated or coercive.
The Foreign Ministry reiterated that Iran’s nuclear stance remains unchanged, signaling continued resistance to external proposals regarding its enrichment stockpiles…..See More
