Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a dire warning in a Facebook video dated May 19th, 2026, that a U.S. military attack on Iran would set off a catastrophic escalation that could wreak havoc on the Middle East.
The rising tension between the two countries should not be underestimated, Ayodele warned, adding that Iran was ready to retaliate against American interests and facilities in the event of an assault.
The preacher made the remarks as world leaders fret over escalating military tensions in the area and the potential resumption of hostilities between Washington and Tehran.
Ayodele warned the US government not to attack Iran militarily at a church service, saying that doing so could lead to greater global instability and dire repercussions.
The Iranian leader has threatened to target other American facilities in the event of an American strike, Ayodele said.
To prevent a bigger war, he said, the diplomatic situation between the two nations had to be handled with extreme caution because it had grown more sensitive.
Instead of resorting to military conflict, Ayodele argues that international leaders should prioritise constructive engagement and discussions. He emphasised that world peace, energy prices, and economic stability could be impacted by yet another massive war in the Middle East.
The warning is issued at a time when news of heightened tensions among Iran, Israel, and the US keeps trickling out. Under pressure from Gulf nations and continuing diplomatic talks, President Donald Trump reportedly temporarily halted a military strike on Iran, according to recent foreign sources.
The Iranian government has also taken a firm stand, threatening a retaliatory strike against any country that threatens Iranian soil or vital infrastructure.
According to Ayodele, other nations in the region could be entangled in a larger issue if animosity between the two states persists. He pleaded with world leaders and groups to use diplomacy to defuse the situation before it got out of hand.
The pastor of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has issued numerous warnings about impending world conflicts and other political events in his many speeches on foreign affairs and security.
There has been some debate among political observers and experts over Ayodele’s predictions, but he is still one of the most vocal clerics in Nigeria when it comes to national and international politics.
In the wake of military threats, disagreements over sanctions, and worries over Iran’s geopolitical actions in the Middle East, the present impasse between Washington and Tehran has maintained its global spotlight.
Experts on international security have expressed concern that the world’s energy supply and regional stability could be jeopardised in the event of a direct confrontation between the two nations.
The world cannot afford another protracted military battle in an already unstable region, Ayodele warned world leaders as he pleaded with them to prioritise peace efforts……See More
