Luka Binniyat, the National Spokesman of the Middle Belt Forum, has stated that there would be several witnesses to support the allegations made by the Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In an interview with the NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, shared on Saturday, September 12, 2026, Binniyat said the Middle Belt Forum stands by Musa and believes that El-Rufai would have been brought to justice and charged with crimes against humanity if another party had won the presidential and Kaduna State governorship elections.
Binniyat said Musa’s reference to “my people” was not limited to the people of Southern Kaduna, adding that the Minister was speaking about a broader group of people affected by the issues he raised.
Binniyat said the Forum was pleased that the matter could potentially end up in court, as many witnesses would be available to support Musa’s claims. He also stated that, as a member of the Federal Government, Musa would likely have substantial evidence to defend his position.
In Binniyat’s words: “We are very excited that if El-Rufai’s family eventually goes to court, there will be a plethora of witnesses to affirm what the Minister has said. Being part of the government, I believe he also has a lot of evidence that he can bring to defend himself.”
