Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, Amachree criticised the governor’s handling of the abduction, arguing that the victims, who are citizens of the governor’s state, remained in captivity for nearly two months before their release. He suggested that the governor’s actions after their freedom appeared politically motivated.

He argued that public officials should prioritise the welfare of affected citizens rather than making statements that could be perceived as politically beneficial after the crisis has ended.

Amachree’s remarks come amid continued public debate over the response to the school abduction and the actions taken by government officials during and after the incident.
