Precious Godwin, a young woman from Benin, Edo State, has narrated how she was allegedly subjected to intimidation and ritual threats after being trafficked to Mali, claiming that a woman identified as Madam Gold collected parts of her body and warned that they would be used for juju if she attempted to escape.
Speaking during an interview on the Abdullahi Tahir Balarae Podcast, on Saturday, 11 July, 2026, Godwin described what she said happened the morning after she arrived at Madam Gold’s residence. According to her, the woman sought to instill fear in her by performing acts she believed were intended to ensure obedience and prevent any attempt to flee.
Recounting the experience, she said, “In the morning, the woman came to me and said ‘give me your hand’. She used razor blade to cut my finger nail, cut my hair. She said if you run, I will carry this to Nigeria and do juju and you will run mad.”
Godwin said the incident left her terrified because she had never experienced anything like it before. She explained that the threat was intended to convince her that escaping would have severe spiritual consequences, making her feel trapped despite being in a foreign country.
According to her, the warning reinforced the control Madam Gold allegedly exercised over the girls in the house. She said she feared for her safety and believed the threats were designed to discourage victims from seeking help or attempting to return to Nigeria……See More
