Palestinian Authority Pleads For US Action As Israel Approves 2,000+ New West Bank Homes

As Israeli planning authorities greenlit the construction of more than 2,100 illegal settlement units across the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Authority had issued an urgent appeal for the American Government under the leadership of President Donald Trump to intervene, and rein in a campaign of Israeli madness.

According to a report made by the Middle East Monitor on Wednesday, 3 June, 2026, the Palestinian Authority in an official statement, carried by the Wafa news agency, came shortly after Israel’s Higher Planning Council announced approval for the new housing units across multiple recognised and unofficial outposts, warned that the accelerated building spree represents a direct assault on international law, and a deliberate provocation that risks plunging the region back into widespread violence.

They also specifically invoked the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which explicitly condemns settlement construction as a flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions and an obstacle to a two-state solution.

The leadership of the Palestinian Authority went further to urged the President Donald Trump’s administration that they should act immediately rather than remain on the sidelines, saying “If America genuinely seeks to promote security and stability in the region and globally, it must step in now to stop this Israeli madness,” further reflecting growing frustration among Palestinian officials who have watched settlement expansion continue largely unchecked, even as Washington has positioned itself as the key broker for any future Middle East peace process.

The Palestinian Authority went further to warned that such policies do not confer any legal legitimacy, and that the Palestinian people would remain steadfast on their land regardless of the new facts being imposed on the ground.

It was gathered that the approved construction plans by the Israeli regime under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu include 1,006 units in the Gevaot settlement, part of the Gush Etzion bloc south of Bethlehem, alongside 922 homes in the Har Brakha settlement near Nablus and 234 units in Kiryat Arba, which is built on land adjacent to the city of Hebron, with Palestinian landowners, and local activists reporting increased military closures around these areas, raising fears that additional land confiscations are already underway…..See More
