The Man From Jigawa Who Was Killed Some Days Ago Is Well Known To Me, He Was My Supporter -Amaechi

Former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that the ADC chieftain and former Jigawa State lawmaker Alhaji Abbas Adamu, who was killed in kidnappers’ custody after a 50 million naira ransom was paid, was a close supporter of his presidential ambition.

Speaking on Trust TV, Amaechi said, “The man from Jigawa who was killed some days ago is well known to me, he was my supporter. He is an aspirant from Jigawa. So he gets up from Kano, decides to come to Abuja, gets to Kaduna by about 8:00 p.m. and continues to Abuja. But he was accosted between Kaduna and Abuja, and by the time we knew it, three days after, he was dead,” he said.

Amaechi revealed that the perpetrators were young men found to be in illegal possession of weapons not a sophisticated or well-organised criminal network. That detail, he argued, makes their kind of banditry easier to tackle than conventional terrorism, because unlike groups with established camps and command structures, these individuals can be traced back to their communities, flushed out, and held directly accountable for their crimes……See More
