According to a report by The Sun on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, a prominent member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has spoken out about his certainty in being the party’s vice presidential candidate, hailing this as a big step toward Kano State being able to provide Nigeria’s president.
This was revealed during an interview that aired on Premier Radio over the weekend by the former governor of Kano State.
He claimed that the state would be well-positioned for future presidential campaigns in the nation thanks to the party’s current political configuration.
Getting the vice presidency, according to Kwankwaso, would put Kano in the spotlight nationally and provide the state a chance to be a major player in the country’s leadership.
He insisted that Kano would benefit from the party’s present political calculations, which would increase the party’s clout nationally.
