Lagos State House of Assembly member Honourable Desmond Elliot has revealed that he defended his role in the impeachment notice against Speaker Mudashiru Obasa directly to Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, telling him it would have been an act of cowardice to walk away from the 37 colleagues who had already signed.
Speaking on Channels TV, Elliot said, “I told him it would be very cowardly of me to single-handedly leave a group of 37 people and move to the other side without taking the bulk of the people along. And you see, it is a matter that has been dead and buried, and Mr. President said it is over. So, for my leader to bring this issue up at this political time, I think it is somewhat quite surprising to me.”
The lawmaker representing Surulere 1 further reaffirmed his respect for Gbajabiamila, describing him as a leader whose counsel he has consistently sought, particularly on matters involving the House and key decisions.
He also claimed that while Gbajabiamila did speak with him during that period, he never at any point asked him to make a public statement to say that he’s not part of the impeachment move against the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa…….See More
