Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former presidential aide has raised serious concerns over the current predicament of the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle on Tuesday May 12th, 2026 she pointed out that the treatment being meted out to the former governor was not justice, but a calculated political witch-hunt.
In her arguments, Lauretta Onochie maintained that the former Kaduna State governor was been unfairly treated, describing his conditions as politically orchestrated.
Nasiru El-Rufai, it can be recalled, had been in the custody of the ICPC over allegations of mismanagement of public funds and other related offences.
However, while many believed that the former governor had serious questions to answer, the statements from Lauretta Onochie indicated that justice was being delayed.
Lauretta Onochie, widely admired for her outspokenness, also pointed out that conditions made available to the former governor to secure his freedom were not justice, but coercion and an abuse of power.
