Speaking during an appearance on Fox News, Velicovich warned that Iran has spent years building up advanced missile and drone capabilities while presenting misleading images of its military strength.
“Iran’s Ayatollah have spent years perfecting the art of fake troops while secretly building missiles and drones that could one day reach us,” Velicovich said during the discussion. He argued that Tehran has relied on deception and proxy warfare to expand its influence across the Middle East while continuing to strengthen its weapons programs behind the scenes.
Velicovich also said Iran’s military approach has focused on gradual escalation through drones, militias, and regional threats rather than direct large-scale conflict. He described the strategy as an attempt to pressure opponents over time while avoiding a decisive confrontation.
The former intelligence analyst noted that recent U.S. operations targeting Iranian missile infrastructure signaled a shift in Washington’s response. He stated that Iran’s campaign of attacks and regional actions had affected multiple countries across the Middle East and beyond, increasing fears of broader instability.
During the interview, Velicovich maintained that the United States was no longer willing to tolerate what he called “nuclear roulette” with Iran. He said American forces and allies were closely monitoring developments and preparing to respond if U.S. interests were threatened.
