Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has assured residents that firm measures will be taken against any compromised individuals or “bad eggs” within Nigeria’s security agencies following recent violent incidents in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
According to a report by News Central TV on Monday, May 11th, 2026, the governor made the statement while addressing growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Plateau State, especially after renewed attacks that have unsettled communities in Barkin Ladi and its surrounding areas. The report noted that his remarks were aimed at reassuring residents of government’s commitment to restoring peace and order.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to maintaining discipline within the country’s security architecture. He stressed that any act of misconduct, negligence, or sabotage by personnel within security agencies would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He further explained that efforts are ongoing at both state and federal levels to ensure that individuals who undermine peace operations or act outside the rules of engagement are properly identified and held accountable. According to him, the effectiveness of security operations depends largely on the integrity and professionalism of those deployed to protect citizens.
“I can assure you that the President and Commander-in-Chief will not accept or tolerate any bad eggs among the security forces,” Mutfwang stated, reinforcing the belief that the federal government is committed to strengthening accountability within the system.
The governor’s comments come amid heightened tension in Barkin Ladi, where recent outbreaks of violence have raised alarm among residents, community leaders, and civil society groups. These incidents have also intensified calls for improved security presence and more transparent handling of conflict-related situations in the state.
