According to the Jerusalem Post, an Israeli official has claimed that the current U.S. President Donald Trump privately assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington will not ease pressure on Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles, even as delicate negotiations continue between the United States and Tehran.
The comments come at a tense moment in the region, with diplomatic efforts underway to reduce confrontation and secure maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz. Behind the scenes, however, Israeli officials appear unconvinced that the talks will hold.
According to reporting from Israeli Channel 13, officials in Tel Aviv are not openly challenging the negotiations, but are quietly preparing for what one source described as their “eventual collapse.” The same source said Israel is intentionally avoiding public pressure on Washington, wary of being seen as pushing the situation toward escalation. Instead, it is reportedly allowing President Trump room to pursue his own strategy with Iran.
