During an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, tackled Ibrahim Abdullahi over his interpretation of the Supreme Court judgment concerning Samuel Anyanwu and the leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking during the program, Olayinka argued that many of the narratives circulating about the Supreme Court ruling were being pushed by individuals aligned with certain interests within the party. He dismissed comments earlier made by Abdullahi, who had appeared on the television station to discuss the court judgment and its implication for the PDP national secretary position.
Olayinka said, “Most of the things we have read were written by them. And most of the things we have read were written by them. And I heard that fellow that came yesterday that you mentioned his name; I don’t want to dignify him because the moment he mentioned that he’s a PA to Kabir Tanimu Turaki, I just waved him aside.”
He further launched a personal attack while explaining why he would not engage Abdullahi in any detailed argument. According to him, “If you are a PA to someone who, as a senior advocate of Nigeria, chooses to be sleeping with his friend’s wife and at the end of the day, he also went ahead to now lie against the friend to the police. He wrote a petition to the police lying against the friend. The police investigated his petition, and they found out that he lied. That’s the reason he was charged to court for misleading the police. So if a man could descend to the level of sleeping with his wife’s friends, I don’t want to just join issue with that kind of character.”…….See More
