Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has opened up about how her mother reacted when she first introduced her Tanzanian boyfriend, now husband, Juma Jux, revealing that the initial response was filled with caution and concern.
Speaking during an interview on WithChude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Priscilla explained that her mother’s reaction was especially careful because her partner was not Nigerian, and there were no shared connections that could easily confirm his background or character.
She said: “My mum was worried when I introduced my Tanzanian boyfriend to her, she had to do a lot of research on him.”
According to Priscilla, her mother took a very proactive approach to understanding who he was. With no mutual acquaintances to rely on, she turned to online platforms, blogs, and search engines to gather as much information as possible about him.
Priscilla noted that her mother looked into details about his family background and public life, ensuring she had a clearer picture before fully accepting the relationship. She explained that this was driven purely by a mother’s protective instinct, especially given the visibility that comes with celebrity life.
However, she shared that everything changed when her mother eventually met him in person. Priscilla revealed that her mother has a strong intuition when it comes to people and often judges character through physical presence and interaction.
After that first meeting, her mother reportedly felt a sense of reassurance and was able to sense his true nature, which helped ease her earlier concerns.
