According to a report by News Central TV, on Wednesday April 15, 2026, a Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has launched a blistering critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government, accusing the administration of practicing “selective justice” in its anti-corruption crusade.
Speaking in a recent interview, Dalung expressed deep concern over what he described as the shielding of high-profile political figures within the ruling party who face weighty allegations of financial impropriety.
He argued that while the government continues to use security and anti-graft agencies to prosecute certain individuals, many within the APC fold remain untouched despite the gravity of the accusations against them.
Dalung used the classical metaphor of the Sword of Damocles to describe the corruption allegations hanging over several APC members, noting that the lack of prosecution suggests a double standard in the country’s legal and security framework.
“My concern about what is happening is that we have so many people with corruption allegation, weighty corruption allegations hanging on their necks like the sword of Damocles in APC,” Dalung stated. “But we have not seen any of them going to or being detained by the ICPC or the DSS or the vigilante or whatever security the government is using to prosecute this selective justice.”
The former minister specifically called out several high-ranking officials and former governors, demanding to know why their cases appear to have stalled or been ignored by the authorities.
“So it is selective justice that I’m against… because I want almost everybody who has allegation of corruption. Take them to the prison and detain them, prosecute them,” he said.
He proceeded to list specific individuals whose legal status he found questionable:
“Why have we not heard anything about the allegations against Senator Akpabio? Why have we not heard anything about allegation against Yahaya Bello?” Why have we not heard anything about the allegation against the former accountant general of the federation?”
“Why have we not heard anything about the allegation about the former governor of Anambra state? Why have we not heard anything about other former governors who have allegations of corruption in APC? This is the area of my concern.”
Dalung, who served as a minister under the previous administration, has become an increasingly vocal critic of the current political landscape.
His latest remarks suggest a growing frustration with the perceived immunity enjoyed by those who defect to or remain within the ruling party.
His demand is simple an end to the sanctuary status of the ruling party and a return to a system where allegations lead to transparent prosecution, regardless of political affiliation.
“I want almost everybody who has allegation of corruption. Take them to the prison and detain them, prosecute them,” Dalung concluded, emphasizing that justice cannot be served if it is only applied to a chosen few……See More
