I Won Only Two States In The Southwest; I Don’t Think I Won Any State In The Southeast -Atiku

During an interview on Arise Television, Atiku Abubakar, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on the strength of his political base across Nigeria’s regions, particularly addressing questions about his continued influence in the North.

Responding to concerns about whether the North still forms a solid base of support for him, Atiku maintained that the region remains central to his political relevance, citing his past electoral performance as evidence. He noted that his strongest showing came from northern states, which he said contributed significantly to his overall results in previous elections.

He also reflected on regional voting patterns, acknowledging weaker performances in other parts of the country, especially in the southern regions, where he said he secured limited support compared to the North. His comments come amid ongoing political discussions about regional alliances and the importance of broad national appeal ahead of future elections.

According to him, “No, the north still remains my major political base because I won more northern states than any other states. I won only two in the southwest. I don’t think I won any in the southeast and the south-south.”…..See More
