An ADC chieftain and Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo, has argued that the South South and Southeast geopolitical zones have an opportunity to end their political marginalization in 2027 by aligning with the North against President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Channels TV, Okonkwo said, “The South South and Southeast are going to vote differently from how they did in 2015, when Goodluck Jonathan lost the election partly because of the South South and Southeast. They have been marginalized by successive presidents because they did not align with them. In 2027, if the South South and the Southeast align with the North, they will win Tinubu. And if they win Tinubu, their marginalization will come to an end.”
Okonkwo also spoke about the ADC’s internal process, describing an open-door approach where all interested candidates would be allowed to contest, with the full coalition backing whoever emerges as the winner.
