Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun State, has revealed that he escaped being killed during the struggle for democracy. He said after the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, he and 58 others formed the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) to fight for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria.
In a video shared by TVC, Osoba said he was the first among all the individuals who formed NADECO to be arrested. He said for over a year, he had to hide to avoid being captured again and he later learned that he was targeted for assassination. He said there were three attempts on his life, but each time he managed to escape.
Osoba attributed his survival to God’s intervention. He also disclosed that he would be 85 years old in few weeks
