In a video shared by Splash FM 1055, former President Olusegun Obasanjo stated that the Biafran cause ended on January 13, 1970 at the home of his friend, Chief Simon Okeke, in Amichi
Obasanjo said many years after the end of the civil war, “Igbophobia” still exists in Nigeria. He said to deal with this, Nigerians should follow the biblical teaching of overcoming evil with good. He said anyone who is feared should be friendly, show kindness and do good to earn the friendship of those who fear them
In Obasanjo’s words: “I believe on the 13th of January 1970 Biafra died and was buried actually in the house of my friend here Chief Simon Okeke in Amichi. Is that correct. But when you have the type of thing that was said to me and the type of thing that you know is going on what I call as I have just called it (Igbophobia) what do we do with it”
