The CEO of Onye-Eze Productions, Martins Onyemobi, has publicly denied long-standing rumours that he slept with actress Destiny Etiko in exchange for movie roles.
Speaking on the Where’s The Lie? podcast aired on First Mate Multimedia, the veteran producer and marketer acknowledged that the entire Nollywood industry believes he gave Destiny her breakout role in Idemili because of a sexual relationship, but insisted nothing of the sort ever happened.
He maintained that his relationship with the actress was strictly professional and driven by his desire to build a star, adding that the first film Destiny ever did with him was My Head Office where she acted alongside Mr Ibu.
In Onyemobi’s words: “As long as Nollywood is concerned, everybody in Nollywood believes that I’m sleeping with Destiny. I want to say it openly. Everybody believes that I give Destiny that role because I’m sleeping with her. I’ve never slept with Destiny before. I’ve never. The first film Destiny did with me, that the first time I saw her, is one of my movies called My Head Office. I think she did two scenes with Ibu. If you see the picture, it’s superb. I put her boldly on the poster, two of them.”
