Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has stated that he once went to a restaurant in Abuja to eat without any of his security details
In a video shared by TVC, Wike said shortly after he entered the restaurant, more than 50 people surrounded him to greet and shake hands with him. He said he felt unsafe and had to leave the restaurant in a hurry
Wike added that as soon as he stepped outside, he saw some people waiting for him and expecting him to give them money.
In Wike’s words: “There was a day I went to one of the restaurants to eat, I didn’t go with security. I told my driver just drive us let me go and eat. I just entered the restaurant and before I knew it over 50 people came to me, I didn’t know what to do again . People kept coming to shake me, off course you know it is not safe. So I told the restaurant staff that I will come back. Immediately I came out I saw some people waiting for me to give them money”
