According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Monday, August 3, 2026, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has declared that individuals sponsoring killers across Nigeria are under a divine curse following the recent killing of dozens of residents in Kaduna State, saying those responsible for the violence and their alleged backers would face God’s judgment.
Speaking during a church service, the renowned cleric reacted to the July 27, 2026 attack in Kaduna State, where gunmen reportedly killed at least 30 people, including women and children.
Oyedepo expressed deep concern over the continued loss of innocent lives, describing the incident as another painful reminder of the persistent insecurity affecting different parts of the country.
The bishop stated that those behind the bloodshed, as well as anyone providing financial or other forms of support for the attackers, would not escape divine justice.
He alleged that the recurring killings across the country were not isolated incidents but carefully orchestrated acts carried out with the backing of powerful sponsors who continue to operate without being brought to justice.
Oyedepo further pronounced what he described as a curse on individuals financing the violence, maintaining that those encouraging or supporting the attacks would face the consequences of their actions.
He insisted that those responsible for the continued shedding of innocent blood would ultimately be held accountable by God, regardless of their influence or position in society.
The cleric also criticised what he described as the government’s failure to respond decisively to the recurring attacks across the country.
He questioned the absence of an official condemnation of the latest Kaduna incident and expressed disappointment over what he perceived as a lack of urgency in addressing the security challenges confronting affected communities.
Oyedepo added that although he had deliberately refrained from speaking publicly about the insecurity for some time, he believed the moment had come for divine justice to prevail.
He said, “When you see God keep quiet at the wickedness of the wicked, it’s because the bubble is about to burst. I have long held my peace… but now I will rise, like a wounded lion, and I will devour at once.”
