In an interview on KaaTruths, Jibrin Samuel Okutepa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), stated that he was told that his mother was in labour for three days before she gave birth to him.
Okutepa stated that there was no hospital or good road in his village at the time. He said one of his father’s friends, who had knowledge of traditional childbirth and herbal remedies, recommended herbs to help his mother give birth safely.
Okutepa said the herbs worked and his mother eventually gave birth to him. He added that he was born on January 1, 1960
In Okutepa’s words: “The story of my coming to where God has brought me now is as excruciating as the story of my birth. I was told that my mother found it difficult to give birth to me and I was told that I remained in her womb for 3 whole days and there was no hospital or road”
